Meet our students and hear them tell how they learn to preserve cultural and natural heritage objects and prevent decomposition during our four programs within Pictorial Art, Natural History, Cultural History and Graphic Conservation.

You can visit the open workshops and hear the students/employees talk about how they work with conservation and restoration.

It is also possible to visit the laboratory and hear about the analysis equipment used in teaching at 19.00 – 19.20 and 21.00 – 21.20 p.m.

You can join a short presentation about research within “The sustainable museum building” at 20.00 -20.20 p.m.

This year’s theme is freedom of spirit and open-mindedness. For Grundtvig, freedom of spirit and open-mindedness were not just ideals, but profound existential values – tied to community, education, and the living word.

We have tailored a wonderful evening with speeches, readings, talks, concerts, choir performances, a children’s workshop, and above all, lots of communal singing. You can also spend time in the Grundtvig Library, where you can dive deeper into Grundtvig’s works.

Stop by and warm yourself by the fire, enjoy a punch, and have a bowl of soup from the bar.

Hele aftenen kan du forsvinde ind i særudstillingen ‘Surrealisme på papir’, slippe kreativiteten løs i værkstedet eller snuppe en familiefolder og gå på opdagelse i værkerne.

I løbet af aftenen kan børn og deres voksne også gå med, når vores kunstformidlere ruller fortælletæppet ud og løfter sløret for historier om mystiske væsner og frygtindgydende drager i SMK’s samling af 700 års kunst. Join us when SMK – The National Gallery of Denmark – opens its doors for an evening dedicated to surrealism. A night when the museum is bathed in coloured light and wrapped in a dreamy sound collage.

All evening, you can immerse yourself in the special exhibition ‘Surreal on Paper’, unleash your creativity in the workshop, or pick up a family guide and explore the artworks.

Children and their adults are also invited along when our art guides roll out the storytelling carpet and reveal tales of mysterious creatures and fire-breathing dragons in SMK’s collection of 700 years of art.

Tag også med kunstformidlerne, når de stiller skarpt på udvalgte skulpturer og udfolder fortællingen om det gamle pakhus i både voksen- og børnehøjde. I løbet af aftenen kan du også opleve videoinstallationer, performances og skulpturelle værker skabt af studerende fra Det Jyske Kunstakademi, når de kaster nye blikke på den historiske samling. We open the doors to The Royal Cast Collection – normally closed to the public. Throughout the evening, children and adults can experiment with plaster and hemp threads to create imaginative creatures in the creative workshop – or immerse themselves in drawing in front of the sculptures.

You can also join our art guides as they focus on selected casts and unfold the story of the old warehouse, with tours for both children and adults. During the evening, you can also experience video installations, performances and sculptural works created by students from the Jutland Art Academy, as they cast new light on the historic collection.
